A Magnificent whitewater expedition, one of the best in the World. The river flows along the beautiful and untouched valleys of the Eastern Nepal. One of the most scenic river routes offered by Nepal.
The Lower Seti River winds through two stunningly contrasting scenic areas, giving paddlers a taste of Nepal’s diverse landscapes. Along the way, you’ll pass traditional local villages, terraced rice fields, cascading waterfalls, and charming suspension bridges. The surrounding jungle is rich with wildlife, and there’s even a beautiful white sandy beach perfect for camping under the stars. With its gentle flow and pleasantly warm water, the Lower Seti offers a relaxing and enjoyable paddling experience, making it an ideal warm-up before tackling more challenging whitewater rivers.
This section of the river is also famous for Beginner Kayak Clinic, providing the perfect opportunity for anyone who has never paddled before to get hands-on experience in a safe and scenic setting. Finishing near Chitwan National Park, this route offers a refreshing and adventurous alternative to the usual bus journey, giving travelers a chance to explore off-the-beaten-track landscapes while enjoying a unique perspective of one of Nepal’s most popular adventure destinations.
Departing early by bus from Kathmandu or Pokhara, it takes around five (from Kathmandu) or just an hour (from Pokhara) to reach Damuli. On arrival at the river, its time to unload the bus, sort out the gear and of course have lunch. After lunch, it's all on board the rafts, a safety briefing by the guides and onto the river. We have an easy afternoon of rafting with a few nice rapids before landing the boats at as beach and making our camp. After the hustle and bustle of our road trip we will all relax in quite surroundings and savor the beginning or rafting journey.
Breaking camp after a delicious breakfast we travel on the river deeper into the vibrant scenery of rural Nepal. Tranquil section of river are broken up by class 3 rapids, exciting drops and a few rock gardens which require some well coordinated paddling.
The rush of the river doesn’t have to be the end of your adventure. After battling the rapids, extend your trip into the wild heart of Chitwan National Park. Find yourself gliding through grasslands on a jeep, spotting rhinos grazing and birds swooping above. The contrast of adrenaline on the river and serenity in the jungle makes the journey feel complete—an adventure that flowed seamlessly from water to wilderness.
